  • Pop-Up in Dundurn’s Historic Kitchen Garden

    Hamilton Children’s Museum will be popping up at Dundurn National Historic Site in the Historic Kitchen Garden. Bring your young family and friends for free nature-based activities in “Sophia’s Garden”, a child-focused interactive space. This area of the garden was inspired by excerpts from The Diary of Sophia MacNab, as Sophia describes playing in the kitchen garden and growing a small plot of fruits and vegetables with her younger sister. This new garden features plants selected to inspire kids to touch, smell and interact with nature. Join Hamilton Children’s Museum staff to explore plants, animals, insects and engage in hands-on activities.

    This program is weather dependent and will be cancelled if there is audible thunder, heavy rain, or if temperatures are above 40 degrees Celsius. 

    Dates:           SATURDAYS & SUNDAYS, May 17 – August 31, 2025

    Are you questioning if you have brain changes or if you live with Alzheimer's or other types of Dementia?

    The Bumble Bee Memory/Dementia Coffee group meets every Tuesday from 1:30-3pm at the Community Support Centre Haldimand-Norfolk located at Unit 1-103 Inverness Street, Caledonia. 

    Coffee, tea, and snacks are provided, free of charge.

  • Italian Heritage Festival

    The Hamilton Italian Heritage Festival is the city’s inaugural celebration of Italian culture and traditions, set to take place in June 21,22, 2025. This exciting new event will be a free festival, bringing the vibrant Italian heritage of Hamilton to the forefront with a diverse range of activities, performances, and exhibits.

     

    The festival will feature live Italian music, delicious food vendors, art displays, cultural performances, and family-friendly activities. Located on James Street North, in Hamilton’s Little Italy, beside LiUNA Station—the very area where many Italian immigrants first arrived in Hamilton—this event will offer a unique opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in Italian culture, history, and traditions.


    With its focus on community, celebration, and cultural exchange, the Hamilton Italian Heritage Festival promises to be a memorable event, creating a space for all to enjoy the richness of Italian heritage in the heart of the city.

    Shredding, the ultimate data detox! Happening Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 9am-noon in Caledonia at the Community Centre. 

     

    Bring in personal and financial documents for "on site" shredding Norfolk Shredding mobile trucks. 

    Donation of $10/box or by donation.

     

    All proceeds will remain in Haldimand and Norfolk and will be used to support Crime Stoppers.

     

    Acceptable Materials Include:

    - any paper

    - plastic sleeves

    - sprial and plastic bindings

    - duotangs and file folders

    - paperclips, staples and elastics

    - ACCO clips (alligator clips)
