    Every successful garden begins with understanding the space you have and the desire to work with plants. In this hands-on session, we’ll cover the essential foundations of gardening so you can successfully start your journey or build upon the knowledge you already have to grow with confidence.

    You’ll learn how to:

     Appreciate the benefits of gardening for you and your yard

     How to develop your garden goals: Living the Dream!

     How to identify your soil type (bring a jar of soil and we’ll analyze it together)

     How to think about light levels, traffic patterns, and other site challenges

     Choose and properly use basic gardening tools

     Evaluate your landscape before planting a single plant

     Understanding what plants to buy and which ones to avoid when visiting a garden nursery

    Bring your soil, tools, and a photo or quick sketch of your space—this workshop is interactive and tailored to help you with your garden.

    The Cayuga Community Cafe is a weekly initiative helping our community access simple and nutritious meals. Every Friday from 11:30am - 1:00pm at St. John the Divine Anglican Church come by to enjoy a meal free of charge. Freewill donations are appreciated to help offset expenses, and all net proceeds are donated to the Cayuga Foodbank.
