"Stayin' Alive" was released in 1977 as the second single from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack and quickly became a true Disco classic. In 2004, it ranked No. 9 on The American Film Institute's ‘100 Years...100 Songs’ survey of top tunes in American cinema.
"Stayin' Alive" hit the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 the week of 4 February 1978, remaining there for four consecutive weeks. In the United States, it would become the second of six consecutive number-one singles for The Bee Gees, tying the record with the Beatles for most consecutive number ones in the United States at the time.

Peter Gabriel has re-recorded his 1980 protest classic “Biko” with help from 25 musicians from around the globe, including Beninese vocalist and activist Angélique Kidjo, Yo-Yo Ma, the Cape Town Ensemble, Sebastian Robertson, and bassist Meshell Ndegeocello.
The original song was written as a tribute to South African anti-apartheid activist Steve Biko, who was murdered in police custody in 1977.

Joe Elliott has released a new song inspired by David Bowie - "Goodnight Mr. Jones."
“I’ve been a fan ever since I saw Bowie perform ‘Starman’ on Top of the Pops in 1972 and was devastated when he passed away five years ago,” Elliott tells us. “‘Goodnight Mr. Jones’ was written as my sendoff / thank you song to a hugely influential artist. I wanted to mark the fifth anniversary of his passing with something that would celebrate the artistry of someone who remains a huge part of my life.”
“Goodnight Mr. Jones" sees the Def Leppard frontman paying tribute to his idol in sprawling, anthemic fashion, accompanied by his side project, Down 'n' Outz.
