Let’s soak up that Summer Sun while we can!
My first stop on Saturday will be at the Dunnville Farmers Market. This is one of my favorite places to shop because they always have delicious fruits and veggies, flowers to help brighten up your garden, maple syrup and honey to keep things sweet and, delicious seasonal items! We are at the beginning of Apple Season – so, you can count on finding crisp apples to get your day started!
I’ll be sticking around Dunnville for most of the day with my second stop being at the GrandErie Home Hardware. They’re located at 1051 Broad Street East and they host a weekly BBQ at the entrance to their store to fundraise for different clubs and organizations in the community! This week the money raised will go towards the Dunnville Skating Club! Once I’ve finished up at the BBQ you can find me hanging around Centennial Park at the Mud Cat sculpture! Come by to explore the trails, take a selfie with “Muddy” and say hi at the events cruiser!
Saturday afternoon I’ll be taking a drive to Cayuga to finish the day off at the brand new Haldimand County Public Library! It’s a great spot with the new Heritage Centre attached where you can wander around for free and discover Haldimand County’s history!
Sunday, I’ll be putting on my running shoes and heading over to LaFortune Park in Caledonia for the Terry Fox Run. Registration starts at 9am and the walk begins at 10. There is no minimum pledge, no entry fee and the walk in non-competitive! They have 1, 5 and 10km routes that you can participate in to support The Terry Fox Foundation!
My second stop of the day will be at the Caledonia Lions Centre for their Craft Show. It starts at 11 in the morning and runs until 3:30. You can shop from over 40 different vendors and grab lunch – all while supporting the Lions! Once I’ve got my shopping fix in I’ll be heading over to Jukasa Motor Speedway for the “Trucks to Touch” event. It’s a free family event sponsored by “The Week of the Child and Youth H/N”. They’re celebrating the children and youth in our community and will have tons of trucks for you to check out.
I hope to see you out enjoying what we have left of these warm summer days in Grand Nation! Stop by any of these events to say hi to me and to get your hands on some Grand Goodies!
