  • Haldimand Seed and Garden Show

Spring is loading… and the Haldimand Seed and Garden Show is your official kickoff. Hosted by the Haldimand Horticultural Society, this annual favourite brings together green thumbs, backyard beginners, and anyone who just wants their garden to look less “before photo” this year.

With more than 60 vendors, you’ll find seeds, native plants, garden décor, and plenty of inspiration to finally tackle that flowerbed you’ve been side-eyeing since last July. The free seed exchange is perfect for swapping extras or trying something new without spending a dime. And if you’ve ever been curious about pine needle basket weaving, there’s a live demonstration that proves gardening creativity doesn’t stop at the soil line.

This is not a “look but don’t touch” kind of event. There are free activities for every age, including rock painting, a scavenger hunt, and a make-and-take bouquet station. Kids 12 and under get in free, so bring the whole crew and let them burn off some energy while you chat with master gardeners, arborists, wildlife groups, and local community organizations who are ready to answer your toughest plant questions.

Hungry? Lunch is available for purchase, so you can make a day of it. Admission is just $5 per person, or $2 with a food bank donation, which makes supporting the community as easy as watering a tomato plant.

If you’re dreaming about fresh herbs, pollinator gardens, or finally keeping a houseplant alive longer than a week, this is where it starts. Grab a friend, bring your questions, and get ready to grow something great this season.

Haldimand Horticultural Society invites you to the Seed and Garden Show.

Free activities for every age. Rock painting, scavenger hunt, make and take a bouquet, demos, free seed exchange, native plants, garden decor, and more.  Check out the pine needle basket weaving demonstration.
